Hi *,
Maybe somebody posted this question before but does anyone know who - apart from Brett and TJ - the musicians are on that one MI performance in the bonus section?

Also, Kevin King on keyboards. The full concert that that footage is excerpted from also features a cameo on one tune by Joel Hoekstra.
AFAIK each of these guys has their own websites (except TJ), so more info could be found about each of them there.

Does anyone have that clip of Joel Hoekstra playing? I love his music as much as Brett's |

We were toying with the idea of commercialising this concert a while ago (and in fact a prototype DVD does exist), but in the end several factors conspired against us. Not least of these was the issue of obtaining clearances, rights & permission from all those involved. This issue still hasn't been resolved, so please don't go passing it around among yourselves, as in this case it's just not legal (or fair on the non-Brett dudes who played on it).
I know Brett would like to do something with it, so you never know, it still might happen (be a shame if it didn't), but this is a near commercial-quality shoot, so giving it away is just not an option.

Seems people are pretty familiar with that GIT show that Brett did with TJ and Donati but when is the vintage of the footage on the Rock Fusion video from, the little snippets of live performance that help segue way between chapters? Brett has long hair in this one but it looks like its filmed at GIT. Does anyone know if this concert exists somewhere in its entirety?

It was indeed filmed at GIT (MI), but whether the entire thing still exists is hard to know. I'm sure anyone who has been to MI can clarify, but my understanding is that the MI guys liked to film as much as they could, archiving it strictly for student use. Also - and Brett will be able to clarify this one - I think the concert was actually a Bobby Rock gig performed for the benefit of the drum guys (PIT at one stage I believe).

I believe that the earlier concert can be found at the M.I. library, where they had hundreds of filmed concerts already in 1997 when I was there for 3 months. However, M.I. doesn´t really let anybody copy that stuff so it might be really difficult to get a hold of it. _________________ If you´re lost, play chromatics

Hi !
I remember a short line published in the guitar player magazine back in 1996 about a Garsed & Helmerich "new" album titled "Plan it not" or something like that...It was a bunch of live re-recorded songs from exempt and quid pro quo with new musicians (Sergio Cocci?...was named)...
Does anyone have any information about this?
Was this album just "that" live concert at MI?
Cheers

I doubt it Adolfo - my understanding is that being a Bobby Rock gig, they mainly played his tunes, plus some covers. Also, Rock Fusion was made at the same time that Exempt was being mixed (according to Brett's comment on the video), so it would be unlikely that a gig filmed some time earlier would have included any songs from that album.
As far as I know the musicians on stage in those live sections on Rock Fusion were Bobby Rock (drums), Brett & TJ, & Cal Carter (bass). Could be wrong though and would have to watch it again to confirm.

Yeah you're right, I think they're playing "walk this way" and "Frankenstein" but also "subway". Is this live concert before "out of body" recording? I thought it was released in '96, but this footage belong to 1995, doesn't it? Are there any other filmed concerts after this one??? |

Rock Fusion came out in '95, but I'm sure it was filmed in '94. Out of Body is dated '96, so we'd have to wait for Brett to confirm the relationship between those songs on the video and the album itself, but I can only assume the tunes from Out of Body had been kicking around for a while before making it to a CD release.
