Hi guys; long time no see.

I've been getting into hot country music pretty heavily lately and in particular I like people like the Hellecasters and Albert Lee. I know Will Ray of the Hellecasters ...

Interesting post, Bill, cheers.

I hold my pick almost exactly like Shawn, then (though I'd never realised this) because I have double-jointed thumbs too (my first thumb joint bends back to a right ...

I've already said this on the IM forums (before the thread disintegrated into 'Greg vs. The World') but this is an astonishing piece of work. The intro is great and really captures the 'slide blues' ...

I've just scored a s/h Digitech Whammy (Whammy II, one of the black ones) off a friend for £80, which is a pretty sweet deal IMO. Are there any Whammy fans round here? I had one before, when I'd onl ...

I just thought I'd wax lyrical here about how good my Ibby feels after having a string change last night and a good lemon-oil of the fretboard. The guitar has been round the block a few times now - i ...

I do like the Tyler smear finishes, but if I was buying one for myself I'd be concerned that I'd end up with one I didn't like as much. That one in the picture is a beautiful one, as is the Arctic Mi ...

I want a Tyler very, very badly. Don't know if I'd have a smear finish (there was a staggeringly beautiful Arctic Mint smear Studio Elite in Guitarist a few months ago, but as each one is different I ...

Frankus, how does that classical thing go? I'd like to see that.

I think quoting can be great fun, but as others have said, if it sounds forced it doesn't work. Much like any lick really - it's u ...

I may be totally wrong here, but I think Frankus may be referring to an approach John Petrucci (and probably others) takes to improvising over a chord progression which has a non-diatonic chord in it, ...
