Given what I've seen posted over the past few years, I'd expect it to contain a Digitech Whammy, a JAC Compressor, a T-Rex Replica, and an Analogman Chorus. They seem to have been pretty fixed fittings as far as I can tell.... |

Well, I would think that Guthrie is pretty well set on the pedals end although I'm sure he gets to try out new gizmos all the time. I know his rig varies from gig to gig or playing situations. He has accumulated quite a collection of overdrive, boost, and fuzz pedals. I can't even remember all the pedals I sent him to try out. I know he's a fan of the Hermida Zendrive (also used by Robben Ford). Other constants seem to be the Guyatone WR3 Auto-Wah, Analog Man Clone Chorus (with Deep option), T-Rex Replica digital delay, Digitech Whammy, Menatone JAC Compressor and the Prosound Xotic RC Booster with more exotic pedals like the Mooger Fooger Ring Modulator and the Silver Machine SM-2 Revolution Wah pedal being added when they fit the situation. He also owns the RMC Picture Wah (a really great vintage style wah-wah), the Analog Man Sun Face NKT-275 fuzz, Sweet Sound MojoVibe, and the Analog Man TS-9 Silver Mod Tube Screamer. I believe he also has the Barber Direct Drive SS. Yeah, Guthrie's got some nice goodies and deservedly so! _________________ Ed Yoon

I haven't tried the new Barber DD pedals. I've never been much of a pedals guy. I prefer to get all the tones from the amp with just a little bit of modulation and delay effects in the loop. It's a different story if one is using a single-channel amp, but if an amp has two good channels, I wouldn't use OD and distortion pedals. But that being said, we at Suhr are planning a bunch of pedals for 2008 and beyond! _________________ Ed Yoon

or... don't it's a dichotomy, to know and yearn or not to know and be niggled by the niggling curiousity of what pedals and how they'd sound...
Waddaya reckon, Sumis, we see Scott Henderson using them first? _________________ Fabulous powers were revealed to me the day I held my magic Suhr(d) aloft and said "by the power of great scale!"

well, something tells me that at least one of those few amazing players, often seen abusing suhr guitars, and who are known for their anal relation to everything tone, are involved with the developing process. but what do i know? ...
now, the interesting speculation is on what kind of pedals! this year is the year of pedal delays. competition will be stiff, so i don't know if there's going to be one. one or two od/boosters is very likely. maybe some 'device' like a looper/mixer/booster-thing. i know suhr is not into buffers, but who knows ...

I'd love to have Guthrie's views on pedals by BJF,Skreddy and Lovepedal...especially the Eternity...has he tried out any of those pedals? _________________ Wonderfully Slippery |
