i have a great idea, if everyone on here each posts a guitar lick possibly in the style of guthrie then we'll eventually have a large collection of licks for improvising.
I'll start. this is one of mine and is a rock/ fusion lick based on the scale of E Aeolian, so playing it over the chord of Em7 will sound great.
(rhythm- 16th notes)

E-----------------12-15-s17-16-15-p14------------------------------
B---------15-13---------------------------15--------------------13s15
G-11h14--------------------------------------14s12-----12s11-------
D------------------------------------------------------14-----------------
A--------------------------------------------------------------------------
E--------------------------------------------------------------------------

A large amount of licks for improvising? Is that like a collection of Shakespeare's greatest lines for ad-libbing? \;-|

I've seen a few of these threads pop up here and there and unfortunately they fail every time...
