Can I suggest you go to a store and try some out?
Of all the things that'll make you sound like Guthrie (20 years or practise aside), a volume pedal probably isn't too high on the list. Try some out, buy the one you like most. |

I dunno, with the pedal flipped up to it's highest extent and put right at the front of the chain you should sound exactly like Guthrie with the pedal flipped up to it's highest extent and put right at the front of the chain.
Of course some people do this volume trick with the volume on the guitar, by turning it all the way to 0.. or just whip the jack out... that'll sound like Guthrie really using a volume pedal.. for small increments of time |

Why do you want to sound like Guthrie? Create your own tone and be unique. He has been playing for a hell of a long time and I think you'll find much of his tone is in his fingers.
I good example of this is Mark Knopfler, you can always tell it's him playing, but he could play through any guitar or amp and it will still sound like him.
Hope that helps,
