Hey guys,
Just wondering if anybody has any news on the videos, backing tracks and transcriptions? I've been eagerly checking every day for a couple of months now, and not a whisper. Has it been delayed, or even cancelled?
Paul Cornford left a message from Jan Cyrka on something like May the 30th, saying that they should hopefully be ready to download in four weeks... which is now about a month ago.
If anybody has any information, I would be grateful, especially as I'm feeling that I need a new Guthrie fix! |

It's still definitely a plan, but Real Life has been getting in the way. Guthrie has been very busy recently, and the summer is never a great time for co-ordinating complex projects.
We've got a few ideas for involving Guthrie in bluesjamtracks projects, and we'll keep you posted...

This is great news. I just stumbled onto bluestracks.com and I am considering whether or not to purchase some of the backing tracks...however this would definately convince me. |

Buybuybuy!
I've bought quite a few tracks from them, esp. ones with cool chord changes from the 'Jambusters' packages. Brilliant quality and perfect for jamming along too. _________________ Cheers

I've been wondering about this, too, but pretty much gave up when Adrian said this project was demoted to a low priority.
It seems like the problem with the backing track "industry" is that as soon as they're available for sale, they appear on all of the free download sites and hence the profit margin is very low. But... Guthrie has a lot of loyal followers that would be eager to get EC tracks, so I wonder if some kind of massive pre-order (+ pre-pay) system might be enough motivation to have them produced.
Alternatively, maybe we'll eventually see another one appear in Guitar Techniques -- it's been some years since WST appeared in GT.
Cheers,
Bert |

sounds bowel-bustingly awesome... and i can only hope the delays due to GG's busyness can be related to him making the new album... and then we can have backing tracks for the new one too... Hoorah and huzzah!!! _________________ "Only dull people are brilliant at breakfast" |
