A compilation CD of Guthrie's Guitar Techniques magazine clips cullled over several years. I've got about 35 tracks and typically killer stuff!

Also:

Joel Hoekstra - The Moon Is Falling
Bjork - Medulla
Liela Avila's demo CD
Squarepusher - Hard Normal Daddy
Mattias IA Eklundh - Freak Guitar
Thomas Leeb - Riddle, Spark
Greg Howe - Parallax
Autechre - Amber, Tri Repeate ++
Todd Duane - Electrocution 250 - Electric Cartoon Music from Hell
Talvin Singh - O.K.
Michael Landau - Live 2000 (Import)
Keith Jarrett - Standards, Vol. 2

Watching the Latcho Drom video of Gypsy music.

Waiting for the John 5 Vertigo album.

The Hoekstra album is cool. Just had one spin so far and I'm sure it's going to sink in more. The Bjork album took weeks to filter in, but I'm really enjoying it now. I'd still need to be in a certain mood to listen to it seriously. Liela Avila is nice music to drive home to after work. Squarepusher and Autechre when I'm in the techno mood. Todd Duane when I want to drive myself up the wall. Howe for some tasteful and groove-laden shred, Landau for some tone and feel, Mattias when I feel like dropping my jaws Shocked , Jarrett for some late-night jazz, Talvin Singh for some exotica... Leeb is great morning music.

i thought i'd post for the comedy value...since im quite young and i've only been aware of jazz fusion for a couple of months and i still listen to all my weird rock stuff:

jeff buckley- grace (last night)
liquid tension experiment (last night)
tower of power- tower of live power '98 (last night)
mike stern- time in place (the night before)
phish- a picture of nectar
tool- lateralus (right now)
and of course the fellowship- live at the bassment

thats whats been in my conciousness for the last couple of days. I'm sure some sting and u2 will pop up soon.

it's interesting, because as a musician I've been VERY excited by discovering jazz fusion...i think dave weckl band (anyone like them?) was my first brush with that when they did ronnie scotts at the start of the year, but i still listen to pretty much anything. I am deliberately refusing to relinquish my tastes just to high-brow jazz experimentation because i think music has many more dimensions than that.

Is it the case that once you've been listening to nutty music for a couple of years you can't stomach anything else? How long have you guys been into this stuff?

sorry to go off topic, just find this interesting. Confused

Metheny - Live DVD and the Austin City Limits Show
Transatlantic
King's X
Centrifugal Funk

and of course a steady diet of:

Lane/Holdsworth/Govan

Richie Kotzen - Get Up
Richie Kotzen - Change

I love Richie's solo stuff.....he's a brilliant songwriter.

alexkahn - The Moon is Falling has also been on heavy rotation. I absolutely love his tones on that disc.

Yeah, I'm definitely digging Joel Hoekstra. The music is definitely interesting, the playing is superb, and the guitar tones are great!
