Thanks for the update and the links to the photos, Tanya. Very much appreciated! Smile

So John's shaved his mustache, I see. He seems around 10 years younger now! Laughing

I guess Guthrie was forced to play through a Marshall, eh? Confused

I expect John will be pleased you said that!

I did notice that there was no Cornford equipment about...hmm...

There aren't too many reviews about from their set,a few comments - most VERY impressed with Guthrie,I would think that for the majority in attendance it was their first viewing of our boy. I remember the first time I saw him,a little over seven years ago, I was gobsmacked...I think the effect on the RoSfest crowd was much the same Very Happy

The Cornford gear thing hmm,, between John and Jay they have many of Guthrie's Cornford heads, and many of Guthrie's Cornford cabs from our USA CA stock that we keep with these guys for Guthrie's use,, maybe the look on Guthrie's face in those pics says it all Sad

Yeah, I agree that Guthrie doesn't seem like a real happy camper hearing what's coming out of whatever he was playing through. I'm sure it wasn't bad, but it sure wouldn't have sounded like a Cornford.

From what I can gather it sounded shit, he had one pained face,, bless him,, the guitar was in tune though well done John Ed et al Cool best not to go uhhhh when Guthrie is not to happy as he needs his rig to play,, I know you guys think he would play thorough a radio and be happy,,,,, but that is not the case,, Guthrie needs a guitar, Shur,, an amp, Cornford, and a couple of pedals,, when he is faced with a M?? he is not a happy Guthrie,, especially when GPS has $25000 of amps for Guthrie to use,, and are very cheap to ship on a plane,, I have done it many times,, lets get some honest talk on the net,, it doesn't happen to often,, and the other thing is its all in his fingers?? but!! Guthrie wants a certain guitar and amp,, you guys tell me why that is,, should me and Ed fix him up with a Yamaha and a Marshall piss ouch,, Very Happy You guys tell me? come on Tanya,, how does it work??

I absolutely agree that Guthrie doesn't look happy in those photos. He's gotta have the Cornfords. It sets him free to sound like himself. I've never heard a modern Marshall that I liked. So many big amp companies make amps that make everybody sound the same. A really good amp allows the character of your own individual style to come through. Guthrie playing a Suhr through a Cornford is a match made in heaven. We get to hear Guthrie as he wants to be heard.

Well guys,I have no idea why Guthrie didn't have his own stuff at the festival.
I must admit that I'm slightly saddened that you both think he was unhappy though as many have commented on how impressed they were with him...which makes promoting GPS and Asia featuring John Payne easier for me Smile
All I can say is just think how impressed they will be hearing him play with his gear of choice....
Looking forward to happier days Very Happy

Hi Tanya, Paul and I are probably exaggerating a bit. I'm sure Guthrie did fine and enjoyed the gig. This is the kind of stuff that only gear pros like us would notice anyway. Wink
