Thanks. Could be a little while before I can get it. It seems like British Magazines are always a month or two behind in the US. |

It's Guitar techniques August 2008 (GT155) Guthrie's Tapping Tutorial.
see... all this kerfuffle has resulted in another sale for GT thanks to Guthrie and no animals were harmed in this thread |
What a kerfuffle
WAIT it's September 2008, #156. It comes out on thursday |

There are probably two sets of ownership issues going on with this sort of thing. There's the music publishing angle and the journalism angle.
As far as Guthrie's article goes (the portion which is uniquely written by him) I think Future have a six-month exclusivity period, after which full control reverts to the writer.
But the notes in the transcription were published by Future on the permission of the copyright owner (with money changing hands ). The appearance of this stuff in magazines is tightly bound by conditions, which is why you'll very rarely see those transcriptions appearing on magazines' websites. The permission is generally specifically limited to one issue only. _________________ http://www.custom-transcription.com

This is why there are many GT transcriptions that are never put through? even though it seems like they said they will in previous issues?
Makes sense though, holding on to copyrights and all that... _________________ "He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him a spinal cord would fully suffice." - Albert Einstein |

Hopefully it'll be out here soon. I just got 155 and the tapping lesson in it is pretty sweet. |
