I've finally received the final confirmation from Guthrie about a series of two-set shows that he and his band, including the Fellowship, will perform at the Tone Mecca clinic/concert room during the NAMM week in January, '05. Cornford Amplification and Tone Merchants will proudly sponsor these shows that will begin on Jan 18 and culminate with a Cornford endorsee extravaganza on Jan 21. Here is the schedule:

Jan 18, Tue, 8PM - Guthrie Govan Trio set (45 mins to one hour), 10~15 minute break, The Fellowship set (45 mins to one hour)

Jan 19, Wed, 8PM - Guthrie Govan Trio set (45 mins to one hour), 10~15 minute break, The Fellowship set (45 mins to one hour)

Jan 20, Thu, 8PM - Guthrie Govan Trio set (45 mins to one hour), 10~15 minute break, The Fellowship set (45 mins to one hour) - It's possible that this evening may be a double bill show with the Rob Balducci Band. I'll need to confirm this with Cornford and Rob Balducci first.

Jan 21, Fri, 8 PM - JMR (www.jmrmusic.com) will open this evening with a 35~40 minute set playing to backing tracks. Then Guthrie will do a full set mixing his solo and Fellowship material. The Richie Kotzen Trio will close up the evening with a full set (hour to 75 mins) featuring the new Cornford RK100 Richie Kotzen Signature Model amp and cab. After that, we can expect an All-Star Cornford jam featuring JMR, Rob Balducci, Guthrie and Richie. Should be a most amazing evening!

Jan 22, Sat, 8 PM - This will be a Vigier Guitars evening featuring Nick Sterling, possibly Craig Erikson, John Avila and Ron Thal closing up the evening. You can be assured that Guthrie will be at TM that evening and participate in an epic jam with Mr. Bumblefoot! Guthrie will depart LA on Jan 23 to join Asia in Germany who will start a tour there on Jan 25.

Jan 23, Sun, 8 PM - This will be a Suhr evening featuring the Scott Henderson Trio. Hopefully we'll have other Suhr endorsees and have an All-Star jam afterwards. I'm sure Guthrie would love to attend as Scott is one of his favorite players, but he'll leave LA on this day for Germany to start the Asia tour there on Jan 25.

Admissions charge for all shows will be $20. All the proceeds go to the artists and the expenses involved in getting them to play here, especially Guthrie and his band who are flying out from UK. Please support the artists. This may be the only opportunity for you to see Guthrie with his band and the Fellowship performing in the States for a long, long while to come, so don't miss this opportunity to catch Guthrie playing with the musicians that he's been playing with for so long. Reserve your seats early as I'm quite sure all of these shows will sell out well in advance of the dates. You can be assured that some other "surprise" guests will show up on some of these shows and we'll be treated to some amazing jam sessions as well!

Thanks!

Also, the plan is to have acoustic fingerstylist extraordinaire Thomas Leeb open up some of these shows with a half-hour set or a little longer and it may be possible to have Eric Roche play alone and with Thomas Leeb as well!

Thomas Leeb has advised me that Eric Roche will indeed join Thomas to play a few tunes solo himself and then perform some duets with Thomas as well! Shocked Should be awesome!

Also, Joel Hoekstra and his band will perform on Jan 23, Sunday, as part of a double bill with Scott Henderson in what will be a Suhr gala event. It makes my head spin to think of all these monster players playing here in such a short space of time.
