Anyone in Essex know if High Barn is doable by public transport? It seems to be miles from a train station Shocked

I'm pretty sure these guys in Ireland would be very keen to have GG do a clinic, and I'd like to have him sign my EC after he ran out of time in Sweden! Razz

Bit further north than I, Colchester has a really bad train service, Stanstead might be better... however I may be going from Chelmsford in which case I'd be happy to have a fellow left hander come along Smile

I guess it depends on whether I get this second interview :S

actually what am I saying I've wanted to meet Ed for years now, I shall be going!!

Hmm there seems to be too little Guthrie mention in this post Sad

The following is a message that John Priest at Peach Guitars posted on the Suhr forum regarding getting to the High Barn in Essex.

Quote:
HI Guys,
I have a few updates regarding the GG clinic......... first of all there's a date change, it's now a day later, so thats Sunday the 6th of December. We're going to be running 2 "types" of ticket, The first type is strictly limited to around 20 places but it will include a masterclass with Guthrie and also the Suhr clinic with Guthrie and ED. THe second type is just for the Clinic.
Prices for the tickets are still to be finalised but expect type 1 to be around £30 and type 2 to be around £15.
The venue is stunning, amazing acoustics and sound system, it'll be ace!
I know a few people are concerned about the public transport being fairly useless where the shop and High barn is, well your concerns are right! it's fairly shocking but i'll probabably be arranging a mini bus to pick some of you guys up from Stanstead airport/train station, i'm so nice.
Anyone who's driving check this link http://www.high-barn.com/directionstous.html
Tickets for type 1 are going to go fast so get in touch now!

Hey Ed, thanks for all these great news! Could you please tell me the differences between the masterclass and clinic? How's a typical course of masterclass and clinic?

Is it right, that all 20 members of the masterclass should take their guitars along? Shocked

The master class is music education, general all-around lesson that explores Guthrie's own technique, theoretical insights and tips, and there would also be question-and-answer sessions at the end. The clinic is product demonstration with Guthrie and me taking turns explaining the background and features of the instruments with Guthrie doing the demos and a few performances to backing tracks.

I don't think it's necessary. It's more of a college lecture, if you will, and I've noticed some guys don't bring their guitars and just sit and take in what Guthrie is saying and playing.

Strangely enough, the first mention of this event on this forum (or the Suhr forum, for that matter)

Station Music have put up a special page, though of course it's in German:

http://www.station-music.de/specials/workshop.html

I've put myself down for both the masterclass and the workshop. Cool

It will be my first Govaning after about 15 years of following the bearded one. Very Happy

Still trying to finalize one more date before I publish the finalized official schedule. We're not going to France and Sweden is still up in the air at the moment. I gave our dealer in Sweden an end-of-this-week deadline to say yes or no. I understand that the holiday season makes it difficult for them and I told him that we could always do it next time with more notice and planning. If not Sweden, we may give Poland a shot.

But, yes, Station Music is confirmed. Really looking forward to visiting Germany and Stuttgart.
