Perhaps the new GG Signature Model, tricked out as it is, is somewhat out of your price range, so we came out with the new Pro Series Modern M1 and M2 models that are virtually identical to the Suhr Modern in Mercedes Blue Metallic that Guthrie has in "soft touch" non-gloss finishes (kind of like satin) that will have a US street price of $1995.
Here are the Pro M1 and M2 prototypes shown at NAMM:
M2 in Ice Blue Metallic
M1 in Copper Metallic (started as Orange Crush but doesn't look like it)
M1 in Gun Metal Gray
Basic specs are the same as the Modern that Guthrie has played extensively for the past year or so.
Alder body
Maple neck with Pau Ferro board on M1, Maple board on M2
Modern Elliptical neck shape .780-.830
10-14" compound radius
1.650" nut width
Gotoh Floyd trem - recessed
Jumbo SS frets
Sperzel locking tuners
Chrome hardware
Vol, Tone, 5-way
1 - Neck humbucker
2 - Outside coil of neck humbucker
3 - Both humbuckers
4 - Inside coils of both humbuckers
5 - Bridge humbucker
Finishes:
Charcoal Web
Copper
Gun Metal Gray
Ice Blue Metallic
Purple Haze
Matching color headstock on M1's
.010-.046 Elixir Nanoweb strings _________________ Ed Yoon

I'm liking the looks of these--the GG looks awesome but it is a bit out of my price range. I've also been looking for a suhr with a floyd rose style trem |

Recessed means that there is a rout around the bridge perimeter so that it sits lower on the body and also allows for pull-up on the trem. _________________ Ed Yoon

Sorry, we won't have 'em until we get a few guitars finished in May or so. I thought we had more in the works but only two are on order at the moment and they are scheduled for May and June. _________________ Ed Yoon

We've shipped just one M3 so far and we don't have a photo of that one. Seems they all want the Floyd on the Pro M. _________________ Ed Yoon

Some questions:
1) Are they PLEK'ed ?
2) Truss Rod access, is it at the top at the headstock?
3) If yes for question 2, is the truss rod covered or uncovered?
4) As there is no Suhr dealer in HK (to my knowledge), possible to speak to you Ed re shipping direct from Suhr to HK?
5) Possible to have setup from factory with either 9-42 or 9-46 Ernie Ball Slinky's ?
6) How balanced is the sound between the humbucker modes and single coil modes? It would be nice if you didn't get a sudden drop in volume when going from humbucker to single coil (or to the "quack" strat setting)... just one of my pet peeves, that's all

Yes, every Suhr guitar is Plek'd.
TR access is at the headstock. It's not covered. We only use vintage-style truss rods for tonal reasons.
We do have a dealer in HK who's a musicians and doesn't have a storefront but sells to a circle of musicians. Please email me and I can hook you up with him. His name is Brian Chan.
Sorry, no Ernie Balls - Elixir NanoWeb or D'Addario EXL's only.
There's really no way to make the single-coil mode (or even regular vintage-style single-coils) as loud as the humbucker.
With amp overdriven or distorted, the difference isn't going to be that great. Just ask Guthrie! He uses the split mode of the neck HB a lot for soloing. It's more of an open and bigger sound (less compressed) and then he switches to the bridge HB for more compression and grind, but he switches between the two constantly and you don't notice any volume difference. _________________ Ed Yoon
