Erics anniversary is coming up
we all know it would be a fitting tribute, so who would buy it?
register you interest HERE, and if you're a lurker then register and help make it happen
and if Guthrie is too busy to do it... im sure i could donate my transcription
this beautiful tune would ROCKET erotic cake sales!
RIP |

id deffinately like to see it. fan made tabs are ok but i love to read the personal notes on transcriptions made by the composer.
do u have any weight behind ur campaign ie. will the GT actually care, or will this be like the 100's of pointless facebook groups that never actually acheive anything? |

Miss'treater is a super-fanboi, remember
Have you got a recording of you nailing it? That's a big part of the GT features too, imho. _________________ SoundCloud |

I can do one
But to be honest, i would rather just donate the tab, and them to put guthries version on the CD
And yes, Neville was considering asking guthrie, im just trying to drum up demand |

I don't believe I've ever seen that done in 10 years of buying Guitar Techniques. I'm pretty sure they always re-record the original (cheaper to license, at a guess?), unless they're transcribing 'live' solos by guest columnists (a Carl Verheyen article springs to mind there).
I'd like to hear your recording of it, for what it's worth....do you fancy doing it anyway?
Cheers

IIRC when "Wonderful Slippery Thing" was featured it was the album version supplied with the magazine. _________________ Cheers

It's close but I don't think that it's the album version...could it be the album version before GG started re-recording parts.? _________________ SoundCloud |

Ah!
I may be confusing it with the version that was on the Cornford Introducing EP, would need to double check but I'm drinking tea right now.

well i have issue 1 upto issue... whatever we are on...
there are many example of this
Ultimately, what you are saying IS correct, but at the same time, Guthrie owns his own publishing, and with his own permission, can use his own track
Id just give the transcription to save him the work lol |
