Hi,

The wife and I will be heading down there, believing the guys are going to be there.

Anyone know if they are or anyone else going?

absolutely! This one is going to be special. I've got 6 or 7 mates involved and my head of music who zak works for. It's gonna be a packed evening!

Please don't forget to take a few photos, including the state of Guthrie's evolving rig! Wink

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum. I'm an ex-pupil of Guthrie's. He taught me at Bath Guitar Festival a few times. I'd really love to see him play again. He's by far the most important factor in me becoming serious about music.

I live in London but really want to come out to Chelmsford tomorrow for the fellowship gig. Can anyone tell me where it is from the train station?

Cheers, hope to see you there!

Incoming email.. Very Happy

Ed, not sure about the photos, "she who must be obeyed" shall also be present (she'll make me feel a bit of a unit for snapping pictures.. behind every great man there's a woman, usually his mother or a woman doing a damn good impression of her Smile) I'll give it a go, Guthrie and the guys seem copacetic to the idea, so there's no security issues (social security issues that is Razz) .. I guess I'd still ask before the gig, but that's just me being a serial apologist, sorry.

There was a guy at the hothouse the other night who had a friend (are you following this?) who wanted to take some pictures for a college course or some such.. I suggested shoving the pictures here, (I think) he looked at me like a madman, which can be read in one of several ways (personally I think madness is a legal term, and I earn enough so it gets reclassified to eccentric) anyway dredded dude, if ya lurking we'd love to see the pictures.

The last picture taken in the bassment, of Guthrie was pretty tops, that person had a gift for capturing personalities in photos, IMO.. I'll see if I can take a picture of the rig.

Here endeth another reading from Ronnie Corbett in the chair Cool

An image in case that reference was too obscure Rolling Eyes

it is very very close to the station actually.

If you carry on under the bridge near to the station you'll find the bus depot right? its basically down a side street directly opposite the bus station. I think there is only one side street but i could be wrong. If you go down this side street it is the first bar on the RIGHT. I THINK Very Happy

my memory isn't fantastic but its not very hard to find once you've found the bus depot. All else fails ask any group of people walking along at about 10 to 9 and someone should know. Does that help?

The bus depot is being knocked down.. so no buses.. but that is one route.. Being a hardcore Doom player for a while I opted for the shorter route and the hidden door to get the chainsaw.. ie nip out the taxi rank and walk 50 yards up the road.. 50 meters if you're european Wink

Cheers Dave,
that's great thanks. Just one other thing. What time will they be playing? (I realise I could probably phone the bassment but you guys know so much!)

Thing is I've got to get a train back to london, so I'm limited by that. I'll have to leave by 11:15ish. Will the band just be getting warmed up then?
Will I have to leave before the set finishes??!!!!! that would be sacrilege! Crying or Very sad

The guys usually set up around 9 and the doors open at 8:30..

And the bouncers usually get through tipping people out at 12:00, so you might well have to miss a bit.
