Whoa! I wonder what the hell happened? Why would he leave Suhr if he was happy with the gear?

WHAT THE...........

Well, at least they seem to be on good terms still. I have no idea how any luthier can top Suhr, but I guess we can wait and see.

I'm sure you've all seen it but it shows some quite insane quality and care going into the instruments. I'll have to keep an eye on Charvel ^^

I do like the look of the guitar above by Charvel. My favourite look is a satin/wood finish, and I also love mahogany. One of the reasons I'm considering a Rasmus GG series.

Actually, will Suhr and Rasmus GG series guitars continue production or not???

Edit: I read that link, where it's said that Suhr will continue the GG models but without his signature. I hope that's true especially for models such as the set neck, etc.

WOW that is some great news. From my point of view Guthrie will benefit greatly by an endorsement like charvel. As for the quality of instruments i think it will be just great. Now all that remains is a sig amp.Any news on what amps is he going to use from now on (hopefully not the Axe II).

I really don't know much about them. I checked out 1 or 2 demo videos of their guitars, but obviously there isn't any showing the one guthrie uses.

If you know any particular cool videos can you link them? Ones showing the tone of the charvel or w/e. I think I saw one with a natural wood finish, but it wasn't a GG layout, it was a twin humbucker. Sounded pretty good, but I would still prefer a Suhr after hearing that particular one.

Looks nice. I'm looking forward to reading how this came about and people debating what a poor/fantastic choice it was for GG to switch brands Smile

There is some clear footage of the Charvel guitar in this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRKHRkSWU1M

It looks like a San Dimas Strat body with the lower horn and cutaway pushed back to accommodate the extra two frets.

On one of the recent youtube videos theres a rumour from a guy saying that the neck of the Antique Modern snapped!

Maybe roasting the maple wasn't such a good idea?

I always preferred his mahogany guitars anyway, even sans the maple top.

Do not quote me on this it's not confirmed. A comment on youtube is all I have to support this news.

There's a post from John Suhr saying that there was no problem with the neck.

The new Charvel appears to have a Roasted Maple neck, too.

I doubt that Guthrie would opt for another neck made from the same material, if there was an intrinsic problem with the wood.

Fair enough, my only source was a comment on youtube, so you know what that means ^^ Maybe I'll contact the user and ask him where he got that info or why he posted it.

Where is the post from John Suhr? Thegearpage?

The Marshall is probably just rented or owned by the venue. In some instances, it's simply not practical to transport your own amp to a gig.
