Another well-deserved cover story for Guthrie and a very fitting title indeed: "In A Class of His Own"
Oh yeah, and can't wait to get the Charvel GG Signature and the Victory half-stack! _________________ Ed Yoon

Very curious about the Victory amp and I'm eager to try it out. I'd imagine that it's along the lines of the Cornford MK50 II and that's what Guthrie told me it's like although I'm sure there have been a few tweaks.
It's also interesting that Guthrie opted for the 6L6 tubes over the EL34 and he mentioned that it surprised him too since he is pretty much going for a hot-rodded vintage UK sound. Well, the Cornford MK50 and MK50 II did have the 5881, which is a military-grade versions of the 6L6.
Personally, I always thought that Guthrie sounded best with the MK50 (II) in the past although he got some great sounds out of the Badger 30. It just seemed to suit his pick attack and touch better than anything else I've heard him play through.
Can't wait to hear him play though the V100 in person. Glad to know that he's found his ideal amp with the sound and features (especially a dedicated high-headroom clean channel) he needed. It was long time coming. _________________ Ed Yoon
