I really like the Charvel Govan model guitars, and in the last few monts I thought about buying one. Later I realized that on the Govan signature model:

1- The neck is too thin (for me);
2- The price is too high;
3- I don't like the floyd rose bridge;
4- I don't want a signature instrument.

So...I decided to order a roasted maple and swamp ash body from Warmoth to build a Guthrie inspired guitar based on my specs.

This looks great. Please post more photos as you assemble it.

How do you find the quality of the Warmoth parts?

Is the neck a tight fit with the body?

I'll post more photos as I go through each phase of the completion. Now I'm finishing the neck with an oil finish.

The quality of the parts is good, the neck pocket is quite tight (but not as tight as on my warmoth telecaster).

I'm looking at a Charvel GG vs the new Ibanez AZ signature models, esp the Martin Miller model. Unfortunately, no shop in my area is likely to carry either, so how am I supposed to compare neck comfort etc?
