So I found out that it's pronounced Guh-ven (kind of like when you pronounce "govern"), not Go Van. I noticed that watching some video footage of Guthrie announcing the members of the band and saying, "Seth Guh-ven on bass." All this time I've been telling people, "go van". Laughing

Guthrie introduces himself on the cd that accompanies his Creative Guitar book, so I already knew this Wink

Ed, what's the pronounciation of your last name?

I have those books but haven't had the chance to really through 'em. I should, one of these days... Rolling Eyes

Pretty much pronounced as it's spelled... But in Korean, it's pronounced "yeun" in a short curt manner, while in English, it's more like yoooon... Close enough! Wink

I used to think it was Go Van as well. Just goes to show. I should know better: people pronounce my name as Ee-doh, while it should be A-doh (it's Dutch Wink). Oh well... What's in a name anyway!

Very true. I get just about every possible variation on Alun ( which is "officially" Al-in):

Al - ann
Al-uhn
Al-een
Al-ain

Al-oon

And that's without the number of call centres that ring asking to speak to Mr Vorgan or Vorhargen (which has got a nice Viking ring to it I guess Very Happy )

Alun (probably)

Being a Scot I'd pronounce it 'Guh-vun'

Wink
