Has Guthrie ever worked with (Mr.Jazz Metal) Shaun Baxter Question I heard some of Shaun's solo album and its really impressive. Its a shame some of these guys dont collaborate together into a jazz fusion version of the awesome metal act Cacophony(Becker/Friedman) or Racer X(Gilbert/Bouillet).Didnt do any of those incredible players any harm to have another great player by their side! Twice the thrill on the one stage! Or if not Shaun who would be a good player to twin with guthrie Question Rolling Eyes[/b]

Yeah me too.

I think out of all the players, a Howe and Guthrie collaboration would be amazing.

Yeah, I need to check out Shaun Baxter. Guthrie speaks very highly of him as well. That Guitar Techniques crew is pretty mind-boggling: Guthrie, Baxter, Dave Kilminster, Jamie Humphries, Phil Hilborne, Eric Roche, etc. Quite a staff! Shocked

My vote went for Greg Howe. I think Guthrie and Greg have complementary styles and seem musically the most compatible. If Shawn Lane was alive, Guthrie and Shawn together would have been an astounding thing to observe. I would think that Guthrie would need to work up and woodshed to keep up with someone like Shawn over the kinds of music that Shawn played, but I believe Guthrie would be able to do it.
