|
|
Have any of you heard Jeff Kollman (solo) or with his power trio Cosmosquad?? If not, I suggest you seriously check him/them out.
His tone is simply to die for and the playing is rediculous!!! They
remind me a bit of Erotic Cakes, and Kollman definitely has that 'X'
Factor to his playing.
In my opinion, he has one of the top 5 best tones around. I believe
he is using an original Bogner head, a 70's Strat and a Les Paul Gold
Top, and some pedals, but not much more than that.
Simply amazing. |

Right you are shredizalive.
I LOOOOOVE Jeff Kollman. He is one of my absolute favorite players
I first heard of him in the GT guitar on the edge series. Since then he's been at the top of my list.
Aside from having a tone to die for his playing is always soooo tasteful and "right" for the song.
I have all his albums xept the last one (JKB) and the Lao Tizer one.
If u guys haven't heard him, check him out. You can not go wrong. _________________ Jesus saves, but Gretzky scores on the rebound |

RIGHT ON BRO
I have the JKB, and it's ok, not his best stuff. It's alot more 'modern' sounding, but still has some nasty playing.
Another guy to check with SICK tone is a German player named Lother Kosse. Vinnie Colaiuta plays on his CD 'Rainmaker'. IT'S SERIOUSLY SWEET STUFF. He's a Robben Ford/Landau type player with a seriously amazing tonal quality. |

Yeah, I've heard some of the Cosmosquad stuff and it sounded great. I'm going to work on having them play at Tone Merchants this summer. _________________ Ed Yoon

OK, you got me intrigued... checked out his forum and can tell he's for real. Anybody want to recommend a CD for someone who hasn't listened to his stuff before?

I would have to say:
Jeff Kollman - Shedding Skin
Cosmosquad - Live @ The Baked Potato
Cosmosquad - S/T
He has an amazing tone. It's ALL BOGNER with a Strat and Les Paul. |

Jeff is great really underrated. I was trying to think of who he reminds me of...and the closest I can think of is Marc bonilla... |
