It is majorly inspirational. I kinda like all of them I reckon the Lee Hodgson is my immediate goal..

I think it was brilliant Smile

A lot of chat about what's going on, it seems to be the key or me

Yeah me to, never done much country but my hybrid picking is ok, so i found that one fun. I liked the dave k lick 2 and 3 to, 2 looks cool, and three is a real fun one to play at speed. I think the guthrie ones were fun to, i love fun stuff!! I would have liked to see shaun baxter doing some though.

Very impressed with the issue, and of course Guthrie's licks Very Happy
Thought Dave K's tone was stunning Cool ...almost made me want to go out and buy a flowery Tele. Nearly Wink

Anyone notice Dave K demonstrating one of the vibrato techniques mentioned in a thread in the Technique section here...very cool!

Can't you post the video? I dislike guitar magazines because it's always about gear or other stuff I don't want to read, but I welcome another Guthrie vid...

Hi RD,
I don't know if you've had a chance to look at a copy of GT, but it's a very different type of guitar mag. There are no gear reviews, no rehash of why Eddie booted DLR, and so on.... just lots and lots of meaty technique articles in every genre imaginable. It's a whole different level of guitar mag. Expensive to subscribe in the US, but well worth it to me.

Cheers,
Bert

Is this the winter 2005 issue?

I work at Barnes and noble part time and they carry guitar techniques but it's really slow coming in. Last i saw was the December issue, today they just got the winter 2005 issue.

Just seeing if it's the same one, it did not appear to be?

Cheers,

Tim

Not (sadly) a very stupid question: if I order a subscription of GT to be delivered in Sweden, will they hold back on the CD/DVD:s ?
Several mags are marketed at exorbitant prices here, and then there's no &?*^* CD - carefully hidden just beneath the ads for smashed gear to be sold at shipping cost is the nano-meter small print saying the CD is not included outside (in my experience) the U.S.
If someone could reassure me on this point, I'd be happy to subscribe.
All the best.

In my opinion GT isn't as great as it has been (maybe I'm just out-growing it? Who knows...)

They seem to be going through an annoying hair metal stage at the moment, and even then it's not particularly spectacular.

It's a pain that they barely have an jazz-fusion on there (though Pete Callard's articles on Michael Brecker were fantastic).

And they should have more Allan Holdsworth. Of course. Maybe they could be near-revolutionary and put a transcription of one's Shawn Lane's live solo's/track's...
