That's what Guthrie gets from just a PRS and an Amp. No gadgets or gizmos. I saw Guthrie play with Asia, opening for Paul Rodgers in concert, and the variety of tones was just great. A lot of players have 3 tones - rhythm, lead and clean....but Guthrie often tweaks any number of sweet tones from his rig during a performance. I guess that's just another thing seperates him from us mere humans.

I've been told by a friend of mine, an ex-student of Guthrie's, that Guthrie can simulate delay with just his hands! He was apparently playing a few examples to a class of students, and my friend had a quick look at the floor to see what kind of delay he had.........but there was nothing. It's guitar juju, Guthrie style!! And of course, many of us have seen what Guthrie can do with just a boomerang pedal, huh? Shocked Shocked

Yeah, as seen in the clinic DVD, Guthrie can pull out more sounds out of the guitar with his hands and just a guitar and amp than most guys with a 20-space rack system with a Bradshaw switching system. But I'd love to hear Guthrie play through the Tone Merchants "God Of All Rigs" (aka GOAR) Rack of Doom system the next time he's over at the shop.
