Ive seen Guthrie do his slap bass technique and also seen Dave K do it as well.
Just wondering if anybody knows how to pull it of correctly.
Its got a wicked sound, especially if you were playing a bif of funk!
Thanks alot

I keep meaning to get out the transcription to Wonderful Slippery Thing from the GT mags to see if he mentions that.. or search ahead in the Creative Guitars to the section where Guthrie covers impersonating other instruments..
But I've been moving house and buying a new car. All I said was "I think I might get a Suhr Classic" _________________ Fabulous powers were revealed to me the day I held my magic Suhr(d) aloft and said "by the power of great scale!"
I have the power! |

Yup , it is in Vol 2.
There are some good clips of Christophe Godin demonstrating the technique somewhere on the Interweb but I can't find them right now. Will have a rummage and post the link if I can find it.
Cheers,

Tell me guys, what the hell has happened to Scotty Mishoe????
Now theres a guy who could slap, pop, and tap with the best of em!! I've tried searching for him but no website.
He used to have an instructional Vid available from his site explaining Slapping for guitar. He was a mean player all round too.
Where the hell has he disappeared to??? |
