I made a start on this a few weeks ago, then I gave up! Ha... I figured I'd wait for someone else to do it. I think I could manage it, but it'd be a lot of work.

Fret - you picked up the intro tab from the JP forum, right? I haven't done any further work on it though.

Does anyone know if he's tapping or using only his left hand for "Waves"?

Are there any videos of him playing this?

Hi

I know some have posted portions of TABBED Waves on the site. In this month's issue of Guitar Techniques (UK) where they interview Guthrie, they also promise a DVD of his playing and a fully tabbed Waves in a future edition.
Better get your orders in now!

Smile

A fully tabbed 'Waves' would mean the death of this forum! Laughing

Ive just learnt the main melody of waves by ear, took a while but its cool to play, and gets you used to doing big intervallic slide ideas, also learnt the main fives melody, and some shredy bits on it, its a fun album to work out, sometimes a real pain in the ass to,

I'm going to do it when some of my other work clears a little bit. (There you go I said it now I HAVE to do it don't I?) Very Happy

Having said that....you may be waiting a while. I have a lot on at the moment.

When the bible mentions the end of the world, it is actually referring to when someone tabs out Waves. There will be rioting in the streets etc, but at least everyone will be going - dana dana dana da...........

OK.....so I've been listening to this song more now with a mind to transcribing it (don't hold your breath just yet!) and something's really struck me about it. It's absolutely blindingly fast in places and very fast most of the way through. But, because it's articulated so well, you don't even really notice how crazy the thing is. That's what makes him standout you know, there are other guitar players who play at those speeds but so effortlessly and with such articulation to every single note? Not many....

Just did the intro in Guitar Pro 5 with Guitar, Bass and Drums.

If you have Guitar Pro 5. I could email it to anyone who wants it.
