Oh well I won't be buying one of those just yet then!!! Maybe I need to grow a beard!?
I'm seriously thinking about a Hellcat now, I have seen a few guitar players using cornfords live around town and they didn't really grab my attention any more than players using anything else, but that one particular clip really has changed my mind. I have no probs with finding the right mic placement as I mic up with a 57 at every gig I play, even if the place is the size of a phone box. To any muso's in the audience, I know I must look like a really anal twat micing my gear up at some of the places I play but I just reckon my guitar tone is miles better when I find the right spot with the mic and then let the PA amplify it. However there does have to be a pretty damn good tone coming from the amp first.
I've tried to do my part as well, posting several threads over at EBMM forums and sevenstring.org: So far the respnse has been phenomenal, with multiple CD's being purchased. For a supposed 'metal heads forum', we sure do love Guthrie over at sevenstring.org
What's interesting is, over at the EBMM forums, management posted a nice little blurb on Guthrie:

Guthrie is not just an awesome player, but a really nice guy too. He is very down-to-earth and not at all the "rock star" type - he doesn't let his monster playing get to his head. He did decline a Music Man sponsorship a few years back -- I thought it was very noble and honest of him to state that he wouldn't play the MM as often as we would like. A lot of people would have taken us up on it, just to be able to get access to product without playing our stuff exclusively, and I respect his decision completely.

Cool stuff, man. Thanks for spreading the word out there. I do what I can, but the places I visit out there are limited.
The hookup between Guthrie and Suhr was just a natural - one of those match made-in-heaven kinda things. He took to the Suhr guitars at Tone Merchants like a fish to water several years ago - especially what was my original Root Beer Standard which - funninly enough - I have in my possession now while he's in UK. They're just the perfect guitars for him or he wouldn't be playing 'em. I'm already dreaming up his next one in my head - a pure shred machine with a Floyd and two humbuckers - probably the new Aldrich set. _________________ Ed Yoon

Would it by chance have an extra string...come on, Guthrie would be a perfect fit...PLEASE
Absolutely amazing clips and to think they are improvised just boggles me, just so fluent it's amazing. He really is the very best guitarist you could ever wish to hear and watch.
By the way, on the Larry Carlton one, there's a wrong note, he plays an F# instead of a G. _________________ mmmmmmmmmmm
