|
this... I was looking for a new guitar and I really wanted a new Jackson Custom Shop Soloist with a Mike Learn graphic, but they want ridiculous coin ($4K min) for the ones I like... So I was in Hollywood checking them out and didn't find anything I liked. In fact, I couldn't find any custom shop Jacksons. So on my way back to the car, I decide to walk into Mesa Hollywood and it turns out they are now a Suhr dealer and here is this incredible guitar. Basically exactly the Floyded Suhr I wanted to go with my non-Floyded one. I was really psych'd when I saw it had the Aldrich pickups which sounded great - real aggressive. So I had to have this one - never really find guitars I like in stores and this was a big exception. I love this guitar! Anyway, here's the setup:
Basswood Body w/Flame maple top in Trans Blue Denim Slate - Black back
Maple neck with Indian Rosewood Fretboard
Even C Slim neck profile
JST Aldrich Bridge and Neck hums w/chrome covers
Here she is:
and with my other baby:

Hmmm... I think you should get some new carpet... the colour of your current carpet doesn't do your new Suhr justice!!!

that guitar looks rather amazing, I really like the chrome hardware contrast to the wood...
+1 for the carpet... a mid grey blue would really set off the new Suhr...
these things are important I think _________________ Fabulous powers were revealed to me the day I held my magic Suhr(d) aloft and said "by the power of great scale!"

OK, two votes for new carpet!
Thanks for the comments guys. This guitar is a great player and sounds really good through my rig. The Aldrich pickups are really nice...

It seems perverse that Guitars are 99% playing but over the internet or if you're a left handed person like me it's 99% looks.
Any chance of some soundclicks before the honeymoon period has worn off - like while your fingers are still surprising you _________________ Fabulous powers were revealed to me the day I held my magic Suhr(d) aloft and said "by the power of great scale!"

Wow
Very nice guitars. I'd be more inclined to the root beer Suhr, but still, two very fine guitars. _________________ "He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. I want to hook up Guthrie with a Floyd-equipped shred machine with a pair of the Aldrich humbuckers. The last time I saw Guthrie he mentioned that he may be interested in experimenting with the Floyd again. _________________ Ed Yoon

Cool! Ed this guitar is incredible. The perfect counterpoint to my rootbeer! You guys are building some amazing guitars. I love the chrome pickup covers on the Aldrich pickups without the pickup rings! Very cool...

Perhaps... but if we can agree we were both a bit harsh I'd say progress towards true understanding has been made.
