I realise that none of you will be particularly interested in this, but I just thought I'd mention anyway... Wink

In the land of bluesjamtracks we like coming up with new ideas, and this is our latest idea. Guthrie is going to sit in our studio and play "live in the studio" versions of all the Erotic Cakes tracks. He will be doing this despite the inconvenience of having a video camera pointing at his nimble fingers.

The videos will be freely available, just like the one for "Fives", but that's not all. For a small price, you will be able to buy the backing tracks (the ones Guthrie uses when he plays at clinics, etc) along with basic transcriptions of the main themes (not the solos) to get you started. All of this stuff will be available for download from bluesjamtracks.com

This is still a very new idea, so we can't say how long it's going to take to get everything ready, but... watch this space!

Well, I guess it'd get more attention on the main forum, as the people who aren't registered can still see it, and it relates (partly) to the thread about the Fives video.

But I can see why Frankus thought it was media-related, so no worries Smile

Not yet, but it shouldn't be too expensive... we'll probably make it possible to buy individual packages (video, backing & tab for a single track) or a bundle for the whole album, just like we do with our existing stuff. It'll be a bit more expensive than the blues packages, but not much so.

This is such great news. I know that having that material will directly improve my playing more than anything else I could do. That's been the case with all of the GG tunes and exercises I've worked on up till now (WST, Chromatic Soloing and other pieces from Lick Library, the Creative Books, etc). Thanks for doing this!

This is all great stuff. Kudos to everyone involved for doing this. It sounds like win-win for everybody - including Guthrie, of course. There really is so much that Guthrie can do to keep the interest level high and keep expanding the fan base. It's not the 80's, but this peculiar era that we live in present different kinds of opportunities.
