Glad you liked it Jordan, it was one take with the typical totally improvised solos, that boy never plays the same way twice Wink

I've spread the word in the usual places and people are freaking out yet once again:

The thing that's so cool about Guthrie is that he keeps hitting you over the head with something you haven't heard from him before. It's the creativity and the new ideas that I find more amazing than the chops.

I'm still stuck at the chops. I have to watch a new video like 10 times to get past the jaw dropping mastery of his technique. Then comes the rythmic choices in the lines, then the phrasing and then finally the creative freedom and musicality. Its a little like a chicken rapping with a hawk in the yard, (chicken says) "yeah these wings are cool and my talons, yup just like yours, oh yeah these feathers rock . . . weather resistant and warm, me and you have so much in common" Then the bastard takes to the sky.

I forwarded a link to the YouTube clip to Reb Beach and he posted it on his forum saying, "This guy does it all." Reb is a big fan.

http://www.network54.com/Forum/52579/thread/1179447702/last-1179452149/This+guy+does+it+all

I sent the link to Steve Stevens as well and Steve says,

"Gee thanks for f*%king up my day, ha ha. Maybe even my week now. Kidding...f@&king hell man...it's just stoooopid how good Guthrie is. This is coming from a guy that HATES instrumental guitar music."

Some nice words from heavyweight players in their own right.

Whoa... that was pretty exciting. Watched it about 5 times in one sitting and will be back for more.

Paul, put a few of those together on a DVD and you'll have my $50. Add some transcriptions and/or backing tracks and I'll make it $100 ... or more...

really...

Major thanks to Ed or dropping by the RX forum and waking me back up. I don't even know what to say about this latest video. It's just breathtaking! It's amazing to see someone play and improvise with such ease and outstanding techniqe that it makes me melt.
