Hello people,
i've decided to register on this forum after being invited by mr. Ed yoon, who have kindly taken the time to msg me and let me know more of guthrie and his music.
My name is Adam, and i currently live in kuwait (if you people where it is ).I've been playing the guitar since i was 12,and never put it down eversince . I've been exposed to so many genres of music throughout the years, been inspired by so many guitarists who have pushed me to strive for the better,my favorites are Lane, petrucci, garsed,Dimeola, eric johnson and so many others. And recently,i kept hearing about guthrie and how well-rounded he is as a guitarist, then came across his videos at tone merchants,to get a doze of his awe-inspiring performances.Guthrie is surely one to sit beside all of my favorites, with the ability to inspire an aspiring guitarist such as myself.
Looking forward to his release ,so that we can please our ears with his remarkable tunes

Hey Adam,
Welcome to the GG Forum. It's good to have you here contributing from a far-away land. Spread the good word on Guthrie over there as well! Once you get Guthrie, there's no going back! _________________ Ed Yoon

cool to have you here? so how's the guitar scene i kuwait? to me it sounds like an exotic place, but since i'm a swede, you might have the same feeling.
The guitar scene in here is not bad, although there aren't many good guitarists around here, apart from couple of friends whom i met when i first came here, and they are very talented players. certainly not many people in here know of guitar players such as guthrie,it's getting better ,however, making my friends listen to newly discovered guitarists i turn into. I'd love to visit sweden someday, man you have so many good artists/bands that im beginning to suspect, something's wrong running in your water _________________ -Big Sky

Yes we do. But most of them are domestically invisible or not very well known at all in Sweden. If there's a scene of Swedish bands today, it has very much moved outside the country (when it comes to successfull acts or performers). But I'd still say that there are lots of great musicians around here considering were only ten millions of people. But given the regulations when it comes to serving alchohol there's no serious tradition of live music in bars etc. (It's also a general culture thing)
Yngwie had to move outside Sweden to be respected. He was more or less fully developed as "Yngwie" at 17-18, but no one could care less about his abilities. (We all know what happened though when Mr Varney found out.) Meshugga is an almost unknown band in Sweden. Mats/Morgan as well (maybe not that surprising though ).
