From Jan Cyrka...
"It's a D.A.M. Red Rooster Treble Booster that I asked Guthrie to use to help smooth out some the peaks when recording so I don't have to use too much compression. We have it set up very subtly and it really helps.
D.A.M. concentrate on making vintage style pedals all of which are absolutely top drawer.

For your interest......
You may have noticed that there is a small digital camera on a tripod in the studio. That's what we used to make these films. The first batch of films that were uploaded to Youtube were so successful despite the quality, we thought we might as well carry on using the same method for now.
The audio is recorded into Logic, mixed and then married to the film using Apple iMovie. Very simple stuff.
Oh, and a massive big thanks to Gadget for the fab pics!!!!!!! "
Awww, shuuukksss,
Now, let's see those fingers move! This is a live shot - no camera trickery used...

I'd posted the links in the Media forum, but I'm glad you thought to post them here... should get a bit more attention.

Thanks, Adrian Sorry about the double post on the clips folks. *Note to self* 'Must pay more attention...'
Here's another pic, including the Cornford Carrera combo (bottom right) which is being used for some of the tracks (the yellow boost pedal in this pic was just being tried-out and wasn't used on the recordings)...
And for those who like amp settings...

There is a live room next door to the control room, with a mic'd Cornford 2x12. Here Guthrie is in there, taking a look at Jan's Kramer Nightswan...

Ok, the funky blues stuff has put me over the top. My guitar is going to be set on fire and my amp is getting hooked up to my daughters karioke machine. That was beyond sick . . . just incomprehensible sick. _________________ It goes to eleven! |

Glad you're enjoyong them folks...
The black pedal is a Russian Smallstone, which was on hand in case any 'weird-and-wobbly' effects were needed. The yellow one is an Xotic AC Booster (not used) and the blue one is the Peterson Strobostomp. The black footpedal under Guthrie's foot is actually from the Cornford MK50, but works equally well switching the Hellcat he was using.
The Erotic Cakes clips are still being recorded, but I would have thought they'll be out within a month or two - I'll check with Jan.
