Nice tapping. Not much attack on the picking parts. Reminds me a bit of a Stanley Jordan cover I heard a long time ago, probably because of the tapping technique. Kind of a strange style on a strat which is cool. _________________ It goes to eleven! |

The thing is a lot of octa-digital tappists switched to the Stick..
Stanley Jordan is the one I'd rate. _________________ Fabulous powers were revealed to me the day I held my magic Suhr(d) aloft and said "by the power of great scale!"

for non-contrapunctal playing or not-a-bad-piano-imitation, i think tj. h. sounds very natural, w/ great tone and touch, and cool music to go with it as well.
even stanley jordan suffers from bad tone, so so intonation and is guilty of some horrible records -- brilliant as he is.
i'm rarely impressed of the fake piano tappers, apart from the dedication and practice hours it takes to work out a bach invention or whatever for 8-finger guitar.

Some superb lines and good technique, obviously a good tapper, but the timing sounded sketch in a few places, good non the less!! _________________ "The reason why guthrie is so good, is that he doesen't spend most of his time on the petrucci forum bitching about vai" |

I like Jennifer Batten's stuff on Above Below and Beyond - some of that's good.
Sumis, Stanley Jordan on Stairway to Heaven the bends on the solo are so bad I was reminded instantly of B.B.Kings "Blacks without Soul" charity plea in the film Amazon Women on the Moon.

It's like he let Carlton Banks from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air play the solo... I guess he's one of those players who loses picth when you add distortion or he can't bend a note to save his life _________________ Fabulous powers were revealed to me the day I held my magic Suhr(d) aloft and said "by the power of great scale!"

yeah, some scary and inventive playing there, and some not so great song writing (to my ears), as well as plain weird production over all that takes too much focus (imo) from the good musical stuff.
