That's really, really tough. I don't think I could name just one. Some of his coolest "licks" are from his improvisations and those are spontaneous creations that we'll probably never see or hear again. The obvious lick that comes to mind is that tapping lick on 'WST' for the wow factor but I really feel that there are many more way cooler things he has done.

hehe, yeah it is really tough! How about favourite solo of his..
Mine will have to be either the solo from I Remember Wes or Headin Home http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9h3o_SU89g&feature=related . You dont get much better than that!!
Intrested in hearing what you guys think.

I don't think there are any copies left, I did ask if they'd release it again and they said no.

I guess the only alternative is to drink 3 litres of coca-cola and listen to John Scofield's track UberJam - it might be the closest you can get to it Sad

they are muppets for not rereleasing it.

There was really an official CD of it? I didnt know that....would love to buy it!

Has anybody a picture of one copy?

Ontopic: Hard to choose a specific lick but I mainly agreed on what A Wood said.

one of you guys said that you like wide interval licks..i reckon his closer interval licks does it..you know when he plays 2 notes together half tone apart, and does whatever he pleases, like bends one of em or plays a small phrase or a melody etc lots of wild sounds ..also when he plays outside of the harmony..umm check this vid to see what i mean..
my alltime favourite govan video:
http://video.google.com.au/videosearch?q=guthrie+govan+part+1&hl=en&emb=0#
on the first boomerang jam, it sounds like a computer talking

those could be called cool licks,. but my 'favourite' lick in the other hand would have to be something played to a slow tempo, sustains, overbends...those cry to me! cant pick one example ..
just check this vid....check out that beauty of an over bend before the legato, and then after at 0:31..touching

My favorite lick has to be the insane tapping lick from 1.03 -1.05 on the infamous Fives video

The most popular one is probably the slippery lick from WST, but a less popular but equally slippery and impressive lick is one which is in Hangover on his album. I think the lick starts around about 2:55 in the song.

There's been many youtube vids since then with amazing licks though
