Hi guys!

I feel that when I do slides my fingers somehow seem to get stuck on the frets. This isn't a problem when I keep my thumb behind the neck but I have big hands so the old school baseball grip is more comfortable for me. Bends are also easier when using this grips as well as large Hendrix-style chords.

Do you think I should use the 'thumb-behind-neck' grip and switch to 'baseball' when doing bends? Or could it be bad fretwork?

Any suggestions?

What you said is exactly what I do. I find that, when executing fast single note lines, keeping the thumb behind the neck facilitates ease of motion (it also helps keeping a consistent downward pressure on the string), but, with bending, using the wrist and fingers in conjunction with your thumb as an anchor helps to get good tone and consistent intonation. Could you take pictures of what you're doing so I can see more clearly what it is you want to remedy?

just watch your not putting too much pressure on the thumb, I find angling my thumb back towards the headstock helps avoid this - you can see most good players do this - Guthrie/Vai etc... I used to have my thumb straight like in the typical classical position but it can cause too much tension.
