Hiya,
A lot of the new Suhr guitar is down to Guthrie's love of the SG style but the scale length of the Suhr is going to be a Fender scale length not a Gibson scale length and to me that makes a lot of difference!
A good starting point might be a Gordon Smith guitar - I used to play a Mahogany GS-1 and they're great guitars.
The problem with the new model is there aren't that many set-neck, Fender scale, mahogany guitars with a tremolo and 24 frets so it's really a case of figuring out what you're prepared to compromise on and most importantly what you're prepared to spend. _________________ Fabulous powers were revealed to me the day I held my magic Suhr(d) aloft and said "by the power of great scale!"

thanks for the reply.. I dont want a tremelo or 24 frets.. scale length isnt a big deal.. i just want an all mahogony guitar that has a great heal joint at high frets like the GG suhr set neck. i can then put suhr pick ups in it. _________________ "all the fun of the fair" |

it will be available as a custom template. otherwise, ordering one w/o recess and blower shouldn't be a problem.

i suppose ed is the one to say when the set neck will be available for custom orders. in the mean time, any local luthier could carve you an f-hole ...
btw, if my daughter only played drums, life would be soo much easier

aw make me feel bad why don'tcha ... if you're kid is a multi-intrumentalist I'll post you another one.. it won't cost much to send as it's the worlds smallest violin (that might be an English phrase - it means I'm not feeling sorry for you ;^) .. my son used to play guitar but classically trained mum pressued him a bit too much imo.
#2 is going to be a bass player as he has a sense of humour and his middle name is Marcus _________________ Fabulous powers were revealed to me the day I held my magic Suhr(d) aloft and said "by the power of great scale!"
