I'm aspiring to become a session player abroad. I have a strat, gibson and was gonna complete the set with a ibanez george benson gb-10 and have guitars for all styles of music. However, ideally one guitar that can cover most bases would be ideal since I'd prefer to travel with one guitar only (since I live in australia). Would the gg sig be as versatile as they come, its not just a shred guitar right?

I'll let you know soon Wink

I don't subscribe to the view that you have to play a certain way depending on which guitar you're holding but I guess that some people make judgements when they see 24 frets and a couple of HBs. If you're 'sessioning', they will demand a strat/tele/LP/etc to suit their pre-conceived ideas (especially if it's a visual date).

Versatility is exactly what GG specified in his sig model: one guitar...all the sounds...gig-bag...aeroplane...session...home for cocoa.

Very versatile guitar

I use mine for everything, it can get a good jazz tone, great funk sound, its done really well in a soul context. And its my main axe in my rock band

I'd say any HSS or HSH guitar with possibilities for coil tap and stuff with your prefered tonewood and bridge type would be fairly suitable for anything, as the GG fits this brief, in the guitar, and in the guy who endorses it, I think it'd be perfectly fine!

Though as Digitalkettle says, you probably will be asked to use a Strat, Tele or Les Paul in some situations as a session musician. =/

love mine sooooo much the pickups are brilliant not harsh at all, and it doesnt split the same as an ibanez u can get the outside coils to sound like a tele.
and the quality is bar none
