I was hanging out with Guthrie last Saturday during the Asia rehearsals and we were talking about different kinds of music and I mentioned to him how much I was enjoying Talvin Singh. Guthrie recommended that I listen to a musician named Nitin Sawhney. He scribbled the name on a piece of paper, getting the spelling off of his iPod. I was checking through his website:
Seems like a monster musician. No clips or any of the sort I could find, so I'm going to order an album and see what it's like. Well, if Guthrie recommends it, I don't see how I could go wrong. Will let you know what it's like after I listen to his music. Seems, very, very interesting. _________________ Ed Yoon

I'm enjoying it quite a bit. Definitely a different flavor from Talvin Singh with more Massive Attack like trip-hop kind of vibe happening. Talvin's stuff is kind of intense with the frenetic tabla playing at times, but this music has more of a relaxed groove that's quite infectious, I must say. Guthrie's got great taste! _________________ Ed Yoon
