Watching those extreme string bends, I wondered if Guthrie tunes his strings down a half- or a whole-step. Does anyone know?

Sometimes. But not for ease of bending, I don't think. He's been playing a fair while now, and has developed strong hands and a modicum of finesse! Wink

Also, those are usually only tens on his twangers, not 16s or whatever the flavour of the month is in I-wanna-be-just-like-SRV circles...
