NAMM is now only a week away and we are itching to get started on the first of many tours we are planning for 2012. The first shows during NAMM are at Alvas Showroom in San Pedro - around 35 miles west of Anaheim and 15 miles south of LA - on Jan 21 Sat 8pm and Jan 22 Sun 6pm.

After these shows at Alvas we have a show/clinic at GIT on 1/24 Tue and then we drive up to northern Cal for a show at Biscuits & Blues in downtown SF on 1/27 Fri. From there we're off to Seattle for two shows at the Rendezvous on 1/28 Sat and 1/29 Sun.

We take a short break and then we have a big one-off show in Costa Rica on 1/25 that will also feature Greg Howe and his band and then we return to Southern Cal for a gig at Brick By Brick in San Diego on 3/2 Fri and finally at the Roxy in West Hollywood for the WesFest on 3/4 Sun.

Then we fly to UK on 3/5 to begin a big tour of Europe that will cover five cities in UK, one in Holland, two in France, three in Spain, and one each in Turkey and Israel. All of these dates have been confirmed and tickets are on sale now!

We look forward to seeing you all at these shows. We are working on more for the remainder of this year and will announce more dates as they get confirmed. Thanks so much for your support. This is going to be an amazing year for the Aristocrats and it wouldn't be possible without you fans all around the world. We are doing everything possible to visit every corner of the world. See you soon!

How does the band feel about meetings and signings? I'd love to get a CD signed or *crosses fingers* my GG Rasmus signed. Does either sound likely?

The band does a meet-and-greet after each show (after they take a breather, of course) with the fans for signings and photo-taking.

Thinking, if I can get the cash and transport sorted, I'll try to get to the Bilston date in the UK.

...but I have nothing for them to sign. =C
...maybe I could bring my Cornford Roadhouse 30 and get that signed? Laughing

So I finally got to see Guthrie last week play in Cleveland. Man it's been a long time coming. Got the Tone Merchant DVDs as soon as they came out after watching some clips online.

Was super impressive up close. A lot of my tastes have changed since first getting into Guthrie, and though they've probably changed in a direction away from Guthrie's style I was absolutely blown away by him.

I know every time I've seen Vai I always think, I don't know if anyone really has any more fun than him on the guitar, and it's always so effortless. I think the same about Guthrie, it doesn't seem to matter how difficult something is, or how fast, it's all same to him. Very cool indeed.

Also, seriously the dude has every guitar trick under his fingers, and over that, he plays them musically. It's such an amazing thing really.

Tone was great, and it was a pleasure seeing him with Marco who is arguably the Guthrie of drums.

Great show overall, and I hope they plan to do some more records in the future! I like the album much better than Guthrie's solo album, though a lot has to do with production for me.

Good stuff, can't wait to see him again some time. The place they played is a place my band plays a lot, would have been cool to open for him. Maybe next time!

Not to worry, I'll catch up with him when he gets back at some stage.
