Hi Guys, Just wondering if anyone could give me some advice! Am currently using cornford roadhouse 30 head with the 8 ohm cornford cab. I want a smaller cab but the 8 ohm cab seems to be the smallest cab cornford make, can anyone reccommend an equally as good quality cab as the cornford but with 4 ohms? and how much of a difference to the actual sound would it make, if any? Thanks!

4 ohms would not mean that the cab is quieter, if anything 4 ohms is louder. 16 ohms would be quieter. But it doesn't really matter, the difference wouldn't be very noticeable.

If you want lower volume you can use a cabinet with less speakers. Or if you're cabinet only has one speaker you could replace it with a smaller wattage speaker, although a speaker with very low wattage could blow if it's pushed too hard. An attenuator would be you're best bet if volume is the issue.

If you mean you want a smaller cab as in the physical size of it well I'm afraid cabs don't get smaller than 1x12.

although there are more compact alternatives than cornfords 1x12s. bogner, caa, engl, port city and mesa comes to mind.

Hi,
I'm using my Roadhouse 30 with Orange PPC 112 cab.
It is 16 ohm and it has Vintage 30 speaker same as the original cornford cab.
It sounds great! I can reccommend it... : )
