While the guys are on tour in Europe, I am busy with the final production stages of the upcoming live DVD/2CD set called 'Boing, We'll Do It Live! The Aristocrats at Alvas Showroom' which we are shooting for Dec 10 release. This one is going to blow your minds. If you thought the debut studio album was good, wait till you see and hear this one.

The Aristocrats is primarily a live band of three amazing virtuosos feeding off each other and taking spontaneous instrumental interplay to whole new heights. I can also say that this is the very best live playing of Guthrie you have seen yet. Unlike most of the YT vids that have been posted out there, this one was carefully edited and screened by Guthrie himself along with Bryan and Marco. Guthrie is quite pleased with how this one turned out.

The Deluxe Edition will include the DVD and 2 CD's with two bonus tracks (17 total) as well as bonus video footage. The separate 2CD album will contain 15 tracks. The 17 tracks add up to over 134 minutes of music, so there's plenty of amazing playing by all three to get into here. This is really the way this band was meant to be heard and viewed, although I'm sure the next studio album (to be recorded in Jan) will be even better than the first one.

So, mark Dec 10 on your calendar. I've got another long business trip to Asia coming up right after Thanksgiving so there's a lot to do before then to make sure everything is ready to go for the launch.

Also, there's news that the band was involved in an auto accident while on route from Italy to Nice, France. Fortunately, no one was hurt but it sure sounded like a very scary ordeal. More info on the Aristocrats Facebook page:

Very glad that no one got hurt and that, overall, things are okay for the band to continue the tour.

Guthrie seems very upbeat about the fact that he's still alive. Accidents like that have a way of doing that to you. I've been involved in a few very scary auto accidents myself. Being alive with good health is a thing that we often take for granted. Nothing else is really as important. Everything else is kind of trivial. I'm so grateful that the guys came out of this unscathed. They were saying that they were "very lucky" to have only suffered some damage to the van...

Alex, what about the new guitar? Will it become a signature model?

I'm currently watching that gig, very exciting so far, the only issue so far for me is the guitar sound, there's a wierd doubling/reverberation effect which I'm not sure is a mistake or not, I'm not a fan of it anyway if it's intentional. Regardless, I'm enjoying the gig so far

I'm not at liberty to say as this really is Guthrie's deal. All I know is that he's testing a prototype that he spec'd out on this tour and, based on the results, he'll have something to say when the time is right.

One more thing that I will add is that Guthrie has not "signed" on with Charvel as some rumors seem to indicate on the Internet - like what's written as "fact" on Guthrie's Wikipedia page. We'll all just have to wait and see what transpires.

Ed, any idea when the track-listing will be announced?

Will it feature any of Guthrie's solo material, or any covers?

The Deluxe Edition DVD/2CD set will include all 9 tunes from the debut studio album plus these tunes from the guys' solo albums:

Waves - GG
Erotic Cakes - GG
Greasy Wheel - BB
Cave Dweller - BB
Train Trax - MM
Mr. Kempinski - MM

And one new tune called 'The Dance Of The Aristocrats' penned by Marco. This one will be on the next studio album as well, which will be tracked in January.
