I run EER-MUSIC.com and rove the web looking for killer fusion and instrumental axe unknowns and awhile back I discovered Govan and my jaw hit the floor watching his chops via online clips.

I have turned on all of the Yahoo Group FuseNet and will soon be singing Govan's praises at EER-MUSIC.com where jazz rock fusion rules.

Ed at Tone Merchants has been very helpful in getting material to us to promote Govan. When I see and hear guys like that play it does 2 things to me: 1) I am amazed and encouraged that unknowns can be so incredibly gifted and be so humble. 2) It makes me want to mothball my own axe when I see how far I have to go. ;-P

Lastly, I invite all of you axe-headz here to check out WEER RADIO where great fusion and prog axe is played non-stop.

Here's whatz happening now . . .

WEER RADIO's Mystery Prog & Fusion Rock contest is
entering its final week.

So far we have NO 100% winning guesses.

So I have added another set of hints here:
http://eer-music.com/WEER/Fusion_Rock_Radio.html

Please remember to go ahead and vote your guesses
this last week to be one of three winners.

Contest ends on March 6th 2005 at Midnite Eastern US.

Good luck and enjoy the 4-hour show even if you don't
care to compete.

Winners' names will be posted at EER-MUSIC.com
Good luck prog & fusion fanatics!

Hi, it is really cool you got a chance to get exposed to Guthrie. He is one of a kind. You might not remember me, but we met at an OHM and Frank Gambale concert at the Ritz. You went around and was handing out your business card to people there. You talked to me, my dad, and my friend for a while. We were the ones sitting at the barstools at the back. Anyways, its good to see you have came here to admire and promote the best guitarist ever IMO. Be sure to get a copy of the Jan. 19th DVD and be amazed

I definitely would have gone to that one at the visulite, but you had to be 21 to get in Mad So instead of a 30 minute trip we have to make a 2 and a half hour trip. I like FG alot, but that show was not worth it at all. I wasn't a big fan of his tone, it wasn't cutting through the mix that good. You should have gone to the Eric Johnson concert in Winston Salem, unbelievable Shocked
BTW, has anybody heard Guthrie's take on "Manhattan", it is very very good

Guthrie transcribed Manhattan a few years back for Guitar Techniques. I can't find the issue to confirm the date, but I'd wager it was 1999.
