Are you absolutely set on getting the Mesa DR or TR? Doesn't the TR just have more headroom and power?

I use a Dual Rectifier live. Its a really versatile amp, loads and loads of options! Great sound, it does have its own sound too. The Triple Rectifier is pointless unles your gonna use that extra 5o watt, the Dual is really loud at 100 watt.

A good investment. I am after a Cornford 40watt combo, just for the smaller venues.

40-watt combo? Haven't heard of this before. Is this a new one? Are you talking about the Hellcat combo?

Yeah, sorry Ed my mistake. Always get mixed up. Im sure Guthrie told me he was using a 40watt Cornford combo last time we spoke? mmm. The thing with the Mesa is that it doesn't compress very well at lower volumes, so you nedd to be driving it quite hard for the best sounds.

What is the Hellcat like? I need two channels really, clean and dirty. I use a Fuldrive 2 for extra boosts of overdrive.
