Hey Chase, thanks for the intro. Good to see a young guy getting into Guthrie. Are you playing right now? _________________ Ed Yoon

Hi, I'm Duncan, from Scotland in the UK. I'm 27 and work in the family business - we have a traditional Scottish clothing company, in other words - Kilts!!
I've been playing since I was 15, and I still haven't figured out how not to suck at it.
Got into Guthrie after been blown away by his monthly lessons in Guitar Techniques magazine. _________________ I before E except after C? Man, what a weird society..... |

I totally missed this introduction thread until after I had already posted in another area, so I'll make this one a little more specific.
I always use my real name as my username, so I'm easy to find on other forums. I run the www.raleighmusicacademy.com and do the best I can to give people a chance to see some great guitarists who wouldn't normally tour in Raleigh, NC. So far we've had Vinnie Moore, Andy Timmons and Bumblefoot and I would love to have Guthrie perform anytime. I still teach guitar even though my business has demanded a lot more adminstrative work than I would like.
I look forward to hearing more and more from Guthrie in the near future.

Hello, my name is Edo, 30 years of age and I live in Voorburg, that's in the mid-west of Holland. Guess what? I play guitar! And I've been infected by the Guthrie Govan bug: he rules! Thank you Guthrie and muchos gracias to Ed Yoon too.

Hello I'm Dave from Lincoln UK. I'm a guitar teacher just like Guthrie! There, unfortunately, the resemblance ends. _________________ It is the height of bad manners to light one's cigar from a burning hat. |

Hi All,
I'm Nick, from London, 32 and a novice guitar player. I came here from the intermusic guitar forums where Duncan M, Goji, Trelloskillos and Thing also spend much of their time. _________________ And when all around you are widdling

I'm Mike, from Basildon, Essex, also 32 and I'm self-employed, and a self-taught guitarist (i.e fairly average, but I still get my kicks from playing!)
As WYNIR0 said, I've dropped in from the intermusic guitar forum thanks to Dunc M, where there are several Guth devotees. |

Hullo, I'm another Dave, from Liverpool in the UK. I am known to Trelloskilos, Thing, Wynir0, Duncan M...and they are known to me...
I am a wannabe/hasbeen musician/producer, now concentrating on songwriting and production for a mooted funk/r'n'b pop band. Yet to find three femal vocalists, but the songwriting is going fairly well. My background is in noisy, Krautrock type improvisation, so this is quite a change for me! I am enjoying it heartily, and writing pop songs is bloody hard!
Anyhow, on the side, I am just setting up a small "cottage" business modding and building effects pedals - nothing too flash or unusual...yet. I have collected FX pedals for a long time, and I have a tiresome, almost autistic knowledge of them. So I thought I'd better do something constructive with it. If anyone wants a Fuzz Face clone (the first GojiTone stomper off the blocks) let me know...
So there you go! |

Hiya.. I'm another GT refugee.
I'm Essex lad, living in Chelmsford. I've been playing guitar on and off since I was six. I got back into playing after a 4 year break when my son was born. Listening to Guthrie playing in The Fellowship and seeing how much they all enjoyed themselves, and how much the audience enjoyed it was the deciding force that shoved me back into playing guitar in ernest.
And the guys from the future music forums? They just fed my GAS for the last X hundred quid
I've dragged a load of mates to see Guthrie and I kinda enjoy watching the catharsis.. they love it too but they have to decentralise their egos first watching this is as much fun as watching Guthrie, who kinda reminds me of an early Ian Anderson from Tull.. |

Hi,
my name is Carlo (duh! lol)
I'm not a professional musician but I do some music gigs and session work part time in NYC. But I'm more of a music fan than anything (I'm not very good!).
My favorite guitar players are Brett Garsed, Andy Timmons, and of course Guthrie Govan!!!! He's probably my new favorite player now.
thanks Ed for the heads up about this forum! |

Hi, I'm Rich from North West London. I to am known to DuncanM, Gojirosan, Trelloskilos, thing, WYNIR0 and frankus. I bet Jason Morris and geetarfreeek will be joining the ranks soon.
I'm a keen hobby guitarist and quite enjoy the musical musing of a certain Sideshow Bob lookalike known as Gertie Gower, or something like that. |

Howdy all, my name is Don and I'm from extreme southern California, having moved here from Boston, MA about 7.5 years ago. I am obsessed with guitar and players and a HUGE fan of Guthrie as well as many others. I wish I had more time to hone my chops but I can play well enough so that it's a lot of fun. Guys like Guthrie, Shawn Lane, and Holdsworth make me want to sell off all my gear and take up pottery though.
BTW: Chase (shredguitar) is really a 49 near old woman from New Zealand who just likes to pretend to be a teenage boy living in the "Musical Capital of the World" while trolling around forums. _________________ What would we all do without guitars............. take up knitting? |
