The Jazz Book that Nas (not MrNis) mentioned was Mark Levine's Jazz Book:

Thanks.

I ordered this book and it came the other day, I started reading it yesterday and it looks like this is going to be the meat and potato of my jazz references (for years to come) - it seems to have pretty much everything and starts at the beginning. Very impressed so far. Very Happy

What do I have to do to get hold of those 200-300 jazz standards you speak of?

I shall upload them to a section of the web tonight and you can d/l them from there.. that do Wink I seem to recall that it's around 256 meg (since it took two trips with my data key (128m).. any way Wink

As these are the old Fake books I don't think there are any copyright issues to do with it per-se but I seem to recall they got pulled on the Guitarist forum , so I'm not going to post the link here.. if you want a copy pm me .. the milky bars are on me Wink

Are you asking where to find the books?

Like: here?

Or are you asking us to copy excerps from the book for you? (Which I won't be doing btw Wink)

Do his books cover 4-note-per-string scales/patterns?
