Yesterday I was working through an Albert King style lesson in last months GT involving minor and major third bends. Doing these big bends has seperated the top of my nails from the bed. It is quite painful, especially when I try to do any bends at the moment. The guitar I was using has 9 guage strings. Has anyone else come across this problem, and if so what can I do about it. I tried dipping my fingers in surgical spirits, but that just hurt!

Thankyou.

please! take it easy. don't overdo it from the start. increase the bending intervalls in increments, over time. practising on a guitar with lighter gage strings might also help.

but then there's the old trick of supergluing the nail back to the flesh.
