Nice playing, and some great right hand work in there.
Love the U2 arrangement
Not convinced by the guitar though....anything that claims to be able to make that many sounds, yet cost less than their top-line acoustic, must be making a compromise somewhere.
Anyone played one and care to share what they think? |

I owned 3 Taylor (810, 614ce, 814ce) guitars and they just didn't do it for me. Too bright, kind of thin on the mids, not really warm although they had a nice brilliance to it. The necks are too thin and feel like shredder's guitars. They seem tailored for the electric player, but if I want to get a nice fat acoustic sound, I'd want it to feel and play different than an electric. To me, they're totally different instruments.
I ended up getting a Larrivee C10 and liked it a lot more than the Taylors. I had access to some nice Guild guitars when I was at Fender, but they felt and sounded too heavy and just didn't play that good. Martins have a timeless quality about 'em. Sometimes you just can't beat tradition as long as it's maintained properly and Martin does a great job of it.
Of course, on the high end, the likes of Santa Cruz, Olson and Collings build amazing instruments. Ryan and Bourgeois also build some great acoustic guitars. And, of course, UK has Lowden and Germany has Lakewood. There are tons of great luthiers building fine acoustics today. No doubt about that. _________________ Ed Yoon

Variax, anyone?
Love the concept, however they feel a bit dodgy... I'll stick to my Maton acoustic, thanx. _________________ "My day job feeds my family, my night gig feeds my ego!" |

Well, they play like electrics and they sound alright. They're fine instruments, but if you were serious about an acoustic, I do feel there are better options. I may be interested in an Olson acoustic someday:
