September 10 was the 1 Year Anniversary of the birth of this forum. Yes, it's already been a full year and we've just went over the 1,000 member mark and the buzz continues to build in the music community about Guthrie and his otherworldly playing. And all this attention and praise without a single solo album or any press coverage! Guthrie's solo album should finally make it out to the public in November. Guthrie advises that the album is now in the final mixdown stage and that all seems to be progressing well. He said that the last sessions of re-recording the dirty guitar parts at Richie Kotzen's studio went well and that it all sounded very good, so for Guthrie to say that, you can bet it's going to sound amazing.

The release of the long-awaited album should do wonders to finally getting Guthrie the worldwide mass recognition that he deserves. He's already got a worldwide following as this forum attests, but it's time he reach the mainstream and have his music and playing be heard and seen by music fans of all ilk - not just guitar players. Despite what hardcore shred and fusion freaks may think of Asia, his working with this band has been nothing but a positive thing in that it introduced his playing and musicianship to a wider audience all around the world. And now, Guthrie will have a much greater creative role in this band and I think that's another big plus in that he gets to be creative from the writing perspective, not just playing.

We're planning another NAMM extravaganza for NAMM with a bunch of shows at TM that'll be sponsored by TM, Suhr Guitars, and Cornford Amps. In conjunction with the album release and aggressive marketing campaigns planned by Suhr Guitars and Cornford Amps/Records to promote the debut album, I'm sure 2006 will be the breakout year for Guthrie as a solo artist as well as a key member of Asia. We'll try again to get a pro production live DVD that Guthrie will be happy with and release by next spring. The future is wide open and the possibilities are virtually limitless. You really ain't seen nuthin' yet! Wink
