Great work as usual, Rick! Your lines do seem quite Guthrie-inspired - especially the tapping lines - but have your own distinct identity. Tapping lines that sound like extensions of what the left-hand is doing are always fine by me. I watched this clip and then listened to it again without watching the video. I like it when I don't have to discern the tapped lines from the normal picking or left-hand-only legato lines. It all sounds seamless. Cool! _________________ Ed Yoon

Thanks for checking it out guys.
Ed, I always try to approach tapping in that fashion so it blends with the left hand. I've never been much of a fan of the old approach to tapping.
Just aside from that for a moment, I found an old clip of me playing on a vhs tape recently. The recording was made in 1993 and I started playing in 1991 so I'd been playing for 2 years. I was really into Jason Becker and Malmsteen at the time. Just thought some of you guys might like to check it out.

If no-one spots it I may post a new thread with the link. _________________ Virtuosity is only useful when serving a musical purpose - J.S.BARK |
