Not sure which issue this came from. Some guy sent it to me via email. I assume that it's a lesson on blues phrasing with some jazz overtones. Very tasty! Very Happy

That sort of stuff is Guthrie at his best IMO. It's the old Ferrari similie, you don't drive fast in Ferrari because everyone knows you're king of the road, there's nothing to prove, leave all the screaming about to the boy racers.

Guthrie never ceases to impress me. The guy's so versatile it's just insane, and his phrasing and feel are Shocked . I've got a few Guitar Techniques jams on my computer like this, and they're all equally insane in their own respects. Cool

By the way, my first post! 'Sup guys Cool

Hey, welcome to the GG Forum! Good to have you chime in and post! Smile I'd like to post of more of this kind of stuff here but kirk95 (the administrator) here says that there are limits on bandwidth of stuff that can be downloaded so he's working on that at the moment. If you don't mind, can you send me some of those clips to me? Gotta collect all things Guthrie! Cool

Wow, there is some really beautiful playing in that piece...This guy just never ceases to amaze, I have never heard a dull moment in anything he has played...And it seems like he NEVER repeats himself...it doesn't seem like there is any room for improvement in his playing whatsoever (but you know he will just keep getting better and better)...I just can't fathom how insane his stuff will be in around 10-15 years Shocked
