PLease welcome an old time shred fan to the forum. My name is Dave. I currently live in Cornwall (UK). I've been playing for 26 years, teaching for 16 years.
I've played in a number of bands over the years, some original, some cover bands. I currenlty front a Balck Label Society tribute band.
I love all types of guitar music, whatever the genre.
I've been a fan of Guthrie since he first came to be known to us all through him winning guitarist of the year. Since then the only stuff I've heard of his is on GT CD's. Not sure what albums etc are available if any. I joined the other day and have been busy down loading all the amizing clips and reading up on the forum.
I use a bunch of Tokai les pauls for the band I am in. One is a Bullseye replica, the others I have modifeid myself. One is black with the chrome bullseye decall on it. They all have EMG sets in them.
I have a very nice flame amber burst Tokai les paul that I dont use for the band. I also have a quilted maple top PRS copy with a wilkinson trem.
I collect Carlsbro heads (seems bizzar to some people). They are a very underated company with some great sounding porducts (as well as some bad ones unfortunately). I currently have two early 90s GLX150 heads, one 2003 Nu Tone head which is great for metal, and a all valve 50 Top Evolution twin channel head. I run them through 1960 Marshall cabinets with G12 75s.
I'm currenlt scouring the UK for any old carlsbro valve guitar heads, most notably the old 50 Top, a very smooth clean amplifier.
mI have a couple of whas, delay unit and a chourus unit, and a TS808. Thst it for effects anmd pedals. I like it simple.
Although my band situation suggests I'm a Zakk freak, i'm more into Guthrie, John Petrucci, Shawn Lane, Scott Henderson, Steve Morse, Richie Kotzen, Paul Gilbert, Eric Johnson, etc. _________________ Dont practice till you get it right, practice till you never get it wrong.

Hey Dave, welcome to the ever-growing community of the Govanites! Or is it Govanians? Thanks for filling us in on your background. You obviously have good taste in killer players. I've tried the Carlsboro amps. They're nice. They don't seem to have much recognition in the States, though. _________________ Ed Yoon
